In the 2nd December of 2023 my elder son's annual exam just finished. He studied at Grade-III. Passing his time at after exam days were very hard to him. No Study, No School, not playing with friends. All the day he was playing TV, Smartphones & annoying us - 'what to do right now?'
That messy days I took him to a local book shop at my town. The man in the shop directed him to the kids section. I told my son, choose the books you want to read I will buy for you. About half an hour he chosen only three books for him. The first one is Thakurmar Jhuli- a pictorial fairy tale story book for kids, then a Science project book for school going kids and a Book on Introduction to Universe for Kids. Returning home he started to read with full of interest.
One day at dinner table suddenly he asked me, Do you know the color of the Mars? Why Time becomes super slower inside black hole? When is the Alien Day? And he answered all the questions from the book he already read. Now a days he becomes more interested in the Universe and The Space. Day by day his interest on the Universe is increasing.
After that, he searched for videos on youtube and other social networking platform about the Universe and the Planet. Astonishingly, I found that he enriched himself with some interesting knowledge and curiosity.
Now he learns several new words everyday which enriching his vocabulary. He becomes more focused on specific matter, such as reading any topic or book. His observation capacity enhancing day to day. His creativity increased on making paper toys, making funny puzzles and playing more interesting games with his five years old younger brother.
His imagination power also improved. Now he thinks about space crafts speed, Our earth's rotation around the sun etc.
Two days ago he went to my house roof top to see the meteor shower at 9.00pm. About an hour later he reported with joy he has seen three Meteor Shower from our rooftop.
Reading books have so many advantage for both children and adults.
So, read yourself and let read to your child.
