Sudden meet with Adorable Cotton Balls- The Cotton pygmy goose

It was a hectic work day at my office. One my bird mate called me over mobile phone. He said, Oh Brother! two lovely cotton pygmy goose are swimming at my college pond. I went there with my camera gears to capture some photos and videos of this beautiful nature creature. The pair of bird were swimming and grazing on the water.

The pair of this lovely adorable birds were moving through the floating leaves of Water Lily. The lash green wing's color was making a harmony with the greenish leaves of the water lily. The male bird covered with white feather whereas the female one with pale brown in color. The female has a cute curvy eye lash on upper side of her eye.

The female bird is slight smaller than the male one. Sometimes they called white-quilled pygmy goose or Cotton teal. They make wonderful scene at flying with their majestic green colored wings. I witnessed such a beautiful flight of a group of Cotton pygmy goose at last winter.

They pair up during the breeding season which is mainly during the rains and build their nests mainly in natural tree hollows, such as tree trunks. The males assist in locating nests but incubation is thought to be by the female alone which lays 6 to 12 ivory-colored eggs per clutch. The nest may as high as five meters from the ground and chicks leap off to follow their parents into water.
