That was mid noon of a hot humid day of last June. The scorching sunlight was burning the meadows and crop fields. The farmers with sweating body were taking rest under the Big Banyan tree at roadside. I was driving my bike on the bank of a water canal but that was completely dry. Suddenly sweet sound of bird chirping come to my ear. Numerous baya weaver birds are chirping and flying from one tree to another tree and nearby grassland.
Baya weaver generally makes nest high palm tree. They use palm leaves or grass to weave their home. Palm leaves and grass leaves are torn by their beak then weave them very brilliant way. All the weaving done with their beak.
At first the male bird start to build a nest. By the process he complete about sixty to seventy percent of making. Then he pause his work and try to attract the female entity. He starts to singing in melodious voice to allure female one.
The female bird comes his home and observe the nest very carefully and keenly. If the nest is up-to the mark or passed with her examination then she agreed to make pair. If not, she flies away. So it is clear that, expertise at home building is the prime quality to form family, ultimately for future generation.
After making pair they both finish the rest of home building works. Sometimes they decorate their nest with dead fire fly which illuminate light inside their nest at night.
Love Birds.
Love Nature.
